Why Kristen Brokaw Started SLiiM

In 2005 I was in a car accident that would change the trajectory of my life forever. While I was driving down the highway, another car struck me so hard that I went up on two wheels. For a year I struggled through migraines and terrible body aches... until I met a functional medicine doctor.

For the first time since the accident, I had found a doctor who was actually able to help me. His root cause approach is what led to me finally healing.

After experiencing first-hand what this kind of medicine can do, I fell in love with it and had to know more. What I found was that there were no resources available for these kinds of doctors and the type of medicine they practice.

I decided then and there to create this useful resource, the St. Louis community directory! Now, people like me, who are in pain or unwell, can find much-needed answers for their health journey.

The St. Louis community clinicians serve those whose intuition tells them something is not right, despite being told everything is fine. That’s why I created this community.

Now, everyone can use this valuable online directory to begin their Functional Medicine path to health.
